Greetings, All,
Nice of you to click me up.
Whew! Don’t know about you, but I for one am glad to
have survived another holiday season – and I am talkin’
“survival.” The madness gathers momentum with each
passing year! I love the celebrations, the old-movies-
marathons, the gluttony, and the wonderful TV specials.
But, yumpin’ yimminie! – the Shopping, Hoards! A word of
caution: They bite!
Now that my blood pressure is down to 390/216, it’s back
to work on the new CD and my Autobiography. (Just
kidding about those BP figures.) So far, 2008’s been
terrific. But it’s still early and as the Dog-days of
Election-Fest is upon us, I’ll hold a bit of my
giddiness in abeyance until the blood-letting subsides
and the last splat of mud has been slung.
All levity aside, though, in supplication I long for
peace – not just for our Nation, but for the world. Of
late, our Homeland is under siege from within and
without. Even so - and however banal it might sound - my
fervent belief is that, if we can bring ourselves to
coalesce on common ground here at home, and aspire to
reclaim the strength of character and prestige we once
exemplified on the world stage, we truly shall overcome!
And so, as the saying goes: “Physician, heal thyself!”
