Music Row / Bob Oermann
In the December issue of our esteemed publication, you’ll find my countdown of fave holiday discs. After repeated listening, Michael McDonald remains my first choice…And, I’m happy to report that there’s one more that has become a staple this season at our house. It is the Dobie Gray CD. In a word, it’s spectacular. The man is singing more soulfully than ever. Half the CD contains his excellent, newly composed holiday songs.
The other half is traditional. It’s all-glorious. Somebody give this CD the massive national distribution it deserves.

Songs of the Season is to Christmas present, what Currier and Ives legendary images were and are to Christmas past.
Performances that open the hearth of the heart to absorb you. The flood of wonderful holiday memories that result, come from that spiritual place we all hold deep within us. Gently reminding us we should spend more time there, no matter the season. Songs from the present, as well as ages past, sung by a voice for all time...Dobie Gray!

XM Satellite Radio America-Channel 10 / Shannon
Not everyone can sing Christmas songs with sincerity...Dobie can! This music will be “like new” every holiday season. It’s timeless.

The sincerity and honesty in his voice brings the seasonal standards into a new comfort zone. Add to that, some original compositions, and you’ve got the perfect blend of the old and the new. Songs of the holidays are designed to fill us with emotions. There’s no better way to listen to them than the Dobie Gray way.

Without a doubt, Dobie Gray’s  Christmas CD
Songs of the Season is one of the best Christmas projects I have ever heard. Gray’s blending of the traditional pieces with the original songs is outstanding. His impeccable voice does justice to each song in a way only reserved for a true vocal craftsman.

At Christmas time, it will be Songs Of The Season, Dobie and Nat will be on the box together. Great song selection and that great “Drift Away” voice. What a combination. A great holiday album!

Dobie Gray’s Songs of the Season CD is definitely a keeper for our station. And while Dobie’s voice is not a stranger to our 70’s format station, it was great having and hearing a new voice for some of the Christmas traditionals like “Joy to the World”. And lest we forget to mention his wonderful newly composed cuts like “Decorate the Night” and “Welcome Home”.

The City Paper / Ron Wynn
Gray nicely applies his impressive voice and delivery to an arresting mixture of originals and traditional carols and hymns on his Christmas disc. Whether he’s performing “Silent Night” and “O’ Little Town of Bethlehem,” or doing his own excellent cuts such as “This Is a Time for Love,” “Child” and “Home,” Dobie Gray’s vocals are consistently stirring and memorable.
